This inflatable flotation system keeps the Sked® in an almost vertical position in the water. It is self-righting and keeps the patient’s head completely out of the water, even in rough seas. The side floats and chest pad provide enough buoyancy to support two rescuers in the water alongside the patient, while the lead shot-filled ballast keeps the foot end down and the head above water. With CO2 inflatable floating blocks on the side and an empty ballast bag with Velcro closure that can be filled with stones just before use, saving you space and allowing you to carry 7.5 kilos less weight.
